ADDapt | Wall System

Location: Digital Fabrication Lab | Carnegie Mellon University

Tasked with creating a new wall system for the school's digital fabrication lab, the design displays the versatility of digital fabrication techniques such as CNC milling to create a multi-unit adaptable wall system.  Made of laminated plywood, the design incorporates pieces of different angles and length to give depth to the wall and allow for the easy incorporation of shelving / display space for projects, as well as seating.  The design also leaves room for elements such as perforations and monitoring equipment to be integrated.  Full-scale prototypes of the unit system were fabricated to test the assembly system and its fit within the space.
