Carnegie Museum of Art | Material Worlds Fashion Show

Materials: Rockite Cement, Hydrocal Plaster, Mesh, Cotton

Selected as finalists to participate in the Carnegie Museum of Art's Material Worlds Fashion Show, two looks were made that combined ideas from a previous collection "de·struo" with inspiration from the work of Iris Van Herpen.  Further expanding the idea of casted wearables made from cement and plaster, the two looks were produced in a week and walked the runway at the show on March 24th, 2017.

From the event page:

"Inspired by the CMOA exhibition Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion (February 4–May 1, 2017), local artists will showcase wearable works of art featuring innovative technology, unique processes, and unconventional materials.  Artists and designers were selected by a CMOA committee from an open call based on their abilities to visualize the ideals and aesthetics of design inspired by Iris van Herpen."
